TIVERTON, RI- On 05/05/2025 at 10:15 a.m., Officer Nikolas Constantino was on patrol in the area of 1296 Stafford Rd when he observed a male walking southbound.
Officer Constantino observed that the male matched the description of a suspect involved in two recent incidents. The first incident occurred on 04/28/2025 and involved larcenies from several vehicles parked at the Tiverton Casino. The second incident occurred on 04/30/2025 and involved a breaking and entering into a residence on Stafford Rd. Both incidents are currently under investigation by the Detective Division. Officer Constantino also observed that the male was wearing similar articles of clothing and carrying a black bag/satchel, all of which were consistent with the suspect from the recent incidents.
Officer Constantino made contact with the male subject, later identified as Jesse Dossantos (37 years old) from New Bedford, MA. Dossantos provided Officer Constantino with a false name and date of birth. While speaking with Officer Constantino, Dossantos suddenly began to run southbound on Stafford Road.
A foot pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, Dossantos threw his black bag/satchel. As the pursuit continued, Dossantos ran through the parking lots of Dunkin Donuts, Bay Coast Bank, and behind a metal building, located on the property of Sanford Firewood (8 Crandall Road).
Additional officers arrived and began pursuing Dossantos as he entered the woods towards Campion Ave. When Dossantos exited the woods at Campion Ave, he observed officers waiting for him. Dossantos re-entered the woods and continued fleeing towards Karen Ave and Restful Valley Rd.
Shortly after, Dossantos exited the woods at Karen Ave. and Restful Valley Rd. Officers waiting in that area took Dossantos into custody without further incident.
