FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TIVERTON, RI – On September 1, 2025, at approximately 5:49 PM, Tiverton Police Officers responded to Hancock Estates, located at 345 Hancock Street, for reports of an active assault. Multiple 911 callers reported that a male suspect, later identified as Greg Frazer, age 46, last known address of Little Compton RI, had violently assaulted a 64-year-old and an 82-year-old family members.
As officers were responding, it was reported that Frazer had fled the residence in a sedan, striking a parked vehicle and driving recklessly. Multiple marked cruisers attempted to stop the suspect, but Frazer evaded capture, driving dangerously around police units. Based on the severity of the reported assaults and his reckless driving, officers initiated a pursuit.
While some officers continued efforts to apprehend Frazer, others remained at the scene with Tiverton Fire Department rescue personnel to provide medical aid to the victims. Both victims were treated for injuries and are expected to fully recover.
The pursuit continued into Fall River, MA, before reentering Tiverton via Main Road. Shortly after reentering Tiverton, the pursuit was terminated as officers had confirmed Frazer’s identity and obtained a possible address in Little Compton.
A short time later, the Little Compton Police Department initiated a pursuit of Frazer in their jurisdiction. Tiverton officers assisted by positioning in multiple locations. Ultimately, Frazer drove into the parking lot of the Little Compton Public Safety Complex, where he surrendered to pursuing officers without further incident.
Frazer was transported to the Tiverton Police Department for processing. During booking, he became combative, resisted officers, and attempted to damage equipment within the booking room.
Frazer has been charged with the following offenses:
- Domestic Violence – Assault on Persons 60 Years of Age or Older Causing Bodily Injury (2 counts)
- Domestic Violence – Disorderly Conduct
- Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety
- Eluding Law Enforcement in a Vehicle in a High-Speed Pursuit
- Vandalism
- Disorderly Conduct
The Tiverton Police Department commends Sergeant Kobelecki, Officer Walton, Officer Jamrog, Officer J. DeCosta, and Officer Buckel for their professionalism and efforts leading to Frazer’s apprehension. The Department also recognizes the outstanding work of Dispatcher Turcotte and Dispatcher Neris-Berrios for coordinating communications and officer safety throughout the incident.
Additionally, the Department extends its thanks to the Tiverton Fire Department for providing medical care to the victims, and to the Little Compton Police Department for their assistance in safely concluding the pursuit and arrest.
Frazer was held at Tiverton Police Headquarters overnight. He will be arraigned in Second Division District Court on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
