The School Resource Officer or SRO is Officer Jacqueline Smaldone. Officer Smaldone’s office is located at the Tiverton High School; however, she makes daily visits to all five of the Town’s elementary, middle, and high schools. The primary responsibility of the SRO is to protect lives and property for the citizens and public school students by enforcing Federal, State, and Local criminal laws and ordinances, and to serve as a liaison between school officials and the police department. Your police and school departments are committed to providing a safe environment to foster the learning process for the students of our community. The School Resource Officer is not involved in the enforcement of disciplinary infractions that do not constitute violations of the law.
