Earlier today (11/04/2022) Tiverton Officers responded to Walgreens, 677 Main Rd. for a report of a kidnapping. There officers met with a resident who reported that she received a telephone call from an unknown male stating that her child had been kidnapped from the store parking lot by “drug dealers”. The caller demanded money for the safe return of the child. Thanks to the quick response by our School Resource Officer we were able to determine that the child was safe at school. We later learned that a similar scam was reported to the Dighton MA Police Department.
